Enjoy a day at La Bandada to experience life in the Argentine countryside!

Upon arrival, there is a reception with a glass of wine and soft drinks. Then there is a cooking class of empanadas where one can learn to make the traditional "repulgue". While the barbecue is being cooked, there’s time to go for a walk or a horse ride around the ranch (up to 10 horses at the same time). By the time you come back the traditional barbecue will be ready: different types of meat, vegetables, and salads. In the afternoon you can enjoy traditional activities as a spectator, or, whoever is up for it can saddle up like a real gaucho! The day comes to a close with an afternoon snack consisting of tea and coffee, and you can try mate (traditional Argentinian drink) with local pastries.

We also offer other day programmes focused on polo, horseback riding, and birdwatching:

  • Day in the Countryside + Polo Class: A full-day experience combining a 1.5-hour taqueo (polo stick and ball) lesson with the best of a traditional estancia day. From 11 am to 5 pm.
  • Day in the Countryside + Los Morrales Match: A chance to watch a traditional countryside polo match — full of skill, humour, and local spirit — where both horses and riders shine. A great way to experience polo as it’s played in the Pampas. The match lasts 30 minutes, followed by a delicious asado and the other activities of the Gaucho Day programme. From 11 am to 5 pm.
  • Pampean Horseback Ride: Designed for those who enjoy longer rides. This programme includes a horseback journey across the Pampas landscape to a neighbouring estancia, where a picnic-style lunch awaits. The return ride to La Bandada arrives just in time for afternoon tea. Private departures for up to 8 people. From 11 am to 6 pm.
  • Birdwatching Day: Perfect for nature and bird lovers. The programme begins with an introduction led by a specialist, followed by walks through the estancia’s different ecosystems and visits to nearby lagoons that host various aquatic species. Depending on the season, more than 100 species can be spotted in a single day.

Why visit La Bandada to live this experience?

Enjoy the ranch doing what you like most: a horse ride through the countryside, a bike ride or a walk, and learn more about the rural activities and traditions of the Argentinian countryside. When booking you can request to add a typical dance and/or music performance, or a guided visit to the nearby historic town of San Miguel del Monte.

Try the best barbecue Argentina’s pampas has to offer. We also have vegetarian/vegan options and can accommodate other specific requests.

A day in the countryside is a perfect idea for couples, families, and small groups of friends and co-workers. Groups are limited to 20 people to ensure privacy and comfort for all visitors. The day runs from 11am to 4pm.

It’s accessible via paved roads. Located just 120 km from the city of Buenos Aires, the travel time is between 1 hour 30 minutes and 2 hours.
